Widening the ground? that's about the only space that doesn't need a makeover.

Dessie's suggestion about widening the field is almost ridiculous.
Though there is some thought that he was somewhat joking.

All the high level rugby league field dimensions are fine except the minimum in-goal depth – this should be increased.
The In-Goal Area depth has been quoted as 6-11m I see (distance between the try line & dead ball line), hmm I reckon' if they made this figure say 15-18m it could improve some gameplay dynamics.

Course that's a mightily impractical and expensive proposition at many grounds around the world so shrug.
