News: Beaver extends Bulls stay

Something else to thank Gallop for.  If the NRL gave salary cap concessions for long serving one team players Beaver would still be with us.
 
I wouldn't put all the blame on Gallop. The NRL is essentially run by a media company, News Ltd, that also owns, oddly enough, English Super League.

I agree with Gus Gould, while the game is not run by a sporting body it will have these  problems because it's only interested in profitable results, and not building the sport. Hence, the player's follow suit.

I personally think Gallop does a good job under these conditions.
