MELBOURNE Storm forward Adam Blair and Cronulla centre Trent Barrett are among the early leaders of this year's Dally M competition. It will again be a tough contest to decide rugby league's best player and a number of players have done their chances not harm by turning in three-point displays in Round One of the 2009 season.
Brisbane's Sam Thaiday, Bulldogs recruit Ben Hannant and the Gold Coast's Scott Prince also scored three points, while South Sydney's John Sutton and Cronulla's Paul Gallen were among those who picked up two Dally M points.

Ahh Trent Barrett - Cronullas modern day answer to Andrew Etingshausen.

He win all the Dally M points on offer it won't make a sodding difference to their premiership chances.

it will be interesting to see at the end of the season if the various Dally M players (positional + overall) line up with the most expensive players in the various RL Fantasy League competitions that ppl are playing in.

My bet is the two won't match up... but that's what you get for letting a bunch of good for nothing sports commentators (read ex-footballers that can't let it go) and hack journos pick the Dally M points spread each week.
