Well a bit of a hit out for the boys and others will give you the highlights of the game and player performance but always good to exit Shark Park as winners no matter what is at stake?
The MWTS albeit in depleted numbers were there making their presence felt.
We shadowed the Supportahs bus through the car park that was the tunnel heading south (2 hours from Nth Curly to the ground!) and arrived about the same time so when we stretched ourselves from Mary’s limo (Thanks for the lift girls?) we immediately saw a few familiar faces in the car park who had just arrived including Berkeley Eagle and Bones and the phone was ringing as the Pringles from the Hunter, Phil, Wolfpack and a few others were looking to get the team together.
A pre-arranged meet in the bistro of Sharkies saw a goodly number of the regulars already there (except those that had asked security to point them in the direction of the Sharks trophy cabinet who were floundering and very, very lost?)
There was a bit of a split in the club with some of us in the bistro and others on the “smoking deck†including “PUSH IT UP MANLY†Jake and Kel, Phil, Jonno, Jerryd, Pat and Jess and Tractor Boy (No Kim who apparently was getting married so couldn’t make it?) to name a few but bit by bit we got the band together including Cambo who was welcomed like a long lost son.
A very wet night so the SW corner was only occupied by those with brollies and no sense (I hid under cover with the kids and then Shano, AJ and an increasing number of familiar faces who saw no honour in drowning in the shire.) until the second half of quarters but once the monsoon abated we all drifted to the bit of Shark Park that we now own.
A wet night but a lot of fun and some notable performances by the boys...
Of course, it would be remiss of me not to mention that a common topic of conversation tonight was “Who’s going to NZ?†and good to see some of those who are already “PIF†(Paid in Full) and some “I really should be there†comments from a few people especially Cambo and Miss Kate.
I wouldn’t be surprised if we have a few more join the manifest in the next few days.....
It was only a practise but gee...it nearly felt like the real thing?
Gotta love going to the game?
