Having often been frustrated when trying to find confirmed contract status of our squad I thought we could keep a thread of current and confirmed contract lengths for the MWSE squad. I’ll make it a sticky and we can add and subtract as needed and it will be an easy reference point.

Feel free to post updates with confirmed links so we can maintain an up to date record.

We need to lock a few of those into longer contracts, starting with the Trbojevic's, Jorge and possibly Peta.

Pure genius C&C. Well done.

Of the unknowns on your list, Zero Tackle has these players off contract in 2015:
Tyson Andrews, Uiti Baker, Delroy Berryman, Siosaia Vave
It has Starling as unknown contract status (like you have him).

Differences (apparent errors in Zero Tackle):
It has Lawrence incorrectly signed up only for 2016, not 2016/17 as per your confirmation link.
It has Buhrer only signed up for 2016, not 2016/17. The confirmation link does not specify a term.
It has Moltzen as unknown for 2016, whereas your confirmation link shows 2016 as signed
It has Taufua only signed for 2016, whereas your confirmation shows 2016/17 was about to be signed.

Maybe if/when player profiles are added on the mwse site, these links could also be added to your list?

The RLW Season Preview edition has Andrews and Vave as being released and I'm sure I have read that Andrews is going to Redcliffe

The club have done very well I think with those on minimum contracts. Looks like they have chosen guys willing to sign for one year only. That way they get a good look at them without any long term commitment. We need a number of the minimum contract guys to have the cash available for the best top 17 that we can afford.

Now that the 2016 season is just about to start can you remove the players who have left the club from the list @Chip and Chase?

I think I'll leave them on there, purely because if someone is wondering what happened to so and so they can still see here that they have moved on. It's plainly obvious for the big names (Hiku, Ballin, etc) but the younger guys and NSW cup guys it's not that clear sometimes whether they are still around or not. So I think I'll leave the dearly departed listed here and tidy it up at season's end in preparation for 2017. Sound fair ??

Maybe we should demand that Chip and Chase work for the club in PR. He's doing a far better job at it that what they have other than Menzies.

Manly Warringah Sea Eagles are pleased to announce the signing of exciting outside back Matthew Wright, effective immediately.

Wright has been released from his contract with the Nth Qld Cowboys and will join the Sea Eagles this weekend. He has played 96 appearances in the NRL.

The former Cronulla Sharks and North Queensland player has signed with the Sea Eagles for the next three years.

Coach Trent Barrett said Wright would be a great asset to the team.

“Matthew is a quality player who can easily play full-back, wing, centre, and five-eighth. When he became available, we didn’t hesitate to sign him,’’ Barrett said.

“He has played almost 100 first grade games and his experience and utility value will be of enormous value to us as we progress further into the season. We look forward to welcoming him to the club.”

Never a dull moment on the retention and recruitment front of late. I'm betting I'll still have a bit more work to do before season kick off too.

Fox market Watch lists only Billy Bainbridge, Brenton Lawrence, Brad Parker, Frank Winterstein as being off-contract this year.

Looks like they missed Jorge (and maybe a couple more reserve graders).

Either way, it seems we are looking at some relative stability after a tumultuous couple of years overhauling the roster. Looks like we are assembling a core worth persevering with, and I take this as a very good sign.

Has there been any word on Brenton Lawrence?

I saw a post in another thread which seemed to infer that his future with us isn't going past this year.

I hope I'm wrong.

He's either looking at or signed with super league as I understand.
Manly offered him a year but he can get two over there I think.
