Monnas 3rd highest missed tackles

The telecrap lists Monnas as being the 3rd highest for missed tackles this season at 46. That is 4 missed tackles per game. No wonder we need Burns in the team just to cover for Monnas' misses.

Thanks god we are getting rid of this speed bump for next year.

If you weigh up how many he attempts the percentage of misses would be very low.

According the NRLstats.com he has missed 30.

So he's missing 13% of his tackles. Looks odd but you'd have to compare that to a notable defender.

Yeah, NRL stats are only up to 9 rounds for individual player stats for some reason.

NRLstats has Monas missing 3.8 tackles a match, making 23.7 tackles.

Ox is next worst with 3.4 misses a match, and 14.4 completed tackles a match.

George Rose averages 0.6 missed tackles a match and 15.2 completed tackles a match.

Willow has missed 1 tackle per game.

Steppa is ranked second in the NRL for average missed tackles. Granted, he's only played one game - but it's easy to fiddle with statistics .

Given that Monas & Ox are about the same size & play about the same position.
I think that probably has more to do with it. Glenn & Willo are bigger & it's their job to back up the halves in defence.
When Darren "golden boy" Lockyer misses a tackle it isn't a miss, he's slowing them down so the defence can get there.
