Mitchell Moses

Not sure about you guys but if there is one player I have a distinct dislike for it's this guy. Nothing personal of course just purely professional. Probably because he plays for Parra and probably because of the way he carries on during almost every single game. Now I am hearing that there may be a real chance he may end up at the Eagles. Best mates with Brooks, managed by same guy who manages Seibold, timing is perfect for +2025 and as reluctantly as I want to admit, he would make a great experienced replacement for DCE. Cap and dollars at that point should not be a problem. Also given what's happening at Parra and with a new rookie coach next year, it would not surprise me. The planets and stars appear to be aligning here. Please tell me I am dreaming. Nightmare??

Firstly, I think there is 0% chance this happens for a number of reasons:
1. I don't think next year is Daly's last.
2. Moses has a contract for 26' and an option (in his favour) for 27' so if Parra want to play hardball for the next two years (aka Ben Hunt), they certainly can.
3. I cannot imagine an agitation just yet, and by the time one could materialise, he'll have had a year or two under the Ryles regime and will probably be comfortable.
4. He's played without Brooks for the better part of 8 years now. I doubt he is desperate to link up with him, regardless of their friendship.

Finally, he is probably the most detestable player in the NRL, along with Gutho. It's a definite nightmare! I'd rather lose, than win with Mitch Moses.

He’ll be at the roosters next year.
Paper talk. It's pretty clear that Hoops has it in for the Eels. 360 thrives on the drama that comes with beating a club when they're down. They're always looking for an opportunity to trash a club's administration. The Talagi move to Penrith was sensationalised as catastrophic and now that's out of the way, the new narrative is Parra's best player set to walk. A couple of weeks ago it was Gutho to centre and stripped of the captaincy. They just make this stuff up because the show needs a headline.

The Chooks have a fight on their hands to retain Sam Walker and just signed Chad Townsend. Ryles will not let Moses walk out of a deal when he is trying to establish his career as a FG coach. It'll be Flanno/Ben Hunt all over again.

I hope you are right. My understanding is that his contract option starts in 26. So the much vaunted 5 year agreement (only signed last year) is actually a 3 year agreement with options.

I don't see it happening but would be a good replacement for DCE.
Don't really like the bloke, seems like he is always whinging and waving his arms about after every tackle trying to get a penalty.

Wouldn't surprise me if he ends up at the roosters on the cheap, there is talk of him wanting to win a premiership and they love using the excuse players sign with them cheaply so they can win one.
If the rumour mill keeps mentioning them it could bite them on the arse, Sam Walker might get his nose out of joint and see he isn't that loved and head back to the Broncos. Would love that to happen and Moses not leaving Parra.

Yep, I think it's complete BS. Hooper was trying to claim that DCE was going to leave Manly earlier this year and even the other guys on 360 weren't having it. He's a puppet for player agents and sensationalised drama.

That said not a bad DCE replacement, though I don't think DCE will retire until end of 2026/2027. By then Moses would be getting old too.

Depends which publication you read I guess.
I read he is best mates with Teddy and they even lived together for awhile (possibly seperate rooms 🤷🏻‍♂️)
But as we know if the Roosters want, they get generally even if Uncle Nick "won't deal" with his agent.

I sense that DCE (from his recent mutterings*) might finish up next year, with at best a one year extension beyond that.

Manly have to be very careful (and no doubt they know this) how they manage that transition.

We have already lost Humphreys - with players like Arthur and potentially the kids emerging out of the juniors like Beau Alexander - possibly not prepared to hang around forever, if DCE does ‘a Dame Nellie Melba’ or two (or three).

*Unless those words are just part of a ‘player manager instigated evolution’.

You left out that he’ll be 30 next month and the fact that the story was started by the questionable James Hooper

I reckon it's a slight chance to happen
and it's Manly they are eluding too in the press.
Also that DCE may not play past 2025
I like Moses and reckon he is an add for most teams, but let's be honest, will be a Rooster if they want him.

And all this has started from a James Hooper comment. As bad as Danny Weirdler... AS for Roosters, Uncle Nick has barred dealing with Issac Moses, so I doubt he will go there. (if its true he is looking to move)

It’s just Hooper speculating because of managers and friendships…nothing story.

Probably a nothing story but for arguments sake if DCE was to finish up after next year I'd love to get Moses as a replacement. The salty Parra tears would be delicious. He'd have 3 or 4 good years left in him.

Personally I think the no d*ckhead rule only goes so far. Wins are wins and I'm sick of manly not making the finals or getting knocked in straight sets. I get no enjoyment or sense of pride from coming 11th with a team full of perceived good blokes, none of which I've met personally to back it up. If Moses can help us win a premiership then come on down. Nathan brown was viewed as an absolute tosser and now regularly receives a standing ovation because he has a crack and a will to win. If gutho stayed with manly I'm quite sure he would be a fan favourite.
