Cody Nelson (calf, Round 2)
John Folau (wrist, Round 3)
Will Smith (knee, Round 8)
Peni Terepo (disciplinary, Round 4)
Kirisome Auva'a (suspend, Round 2)

Having a rough trot after the trials, no real excuses from us to knock them over. It would be nice to start the season with a big win over the Eels.

With those listed players out, Blacktown will certainly win.

That's a fair point Shoe, they list all of those guys, but in the top 40 lol... Still, I'm pleased Vave is not there, he is a wrecking ball, we should have kept him...

I think this Sea Eagles side will surprise in Round 1...I'm just hoping it will be a good surprise.

This side already seems to have more urgency for positions and is more settled than in 2016....with limited funds have signed wisely and not that convinced Eels are as good as they were....have had their own share of off field issues/injuries....

Vave may be a wrecking ball in attack, but his defense is iffy at best. Not mobile enough which is ok when players run straight at him but the smaller, faster players seem to easily run around him.

We are short Lussick, Parker and Wright X 2 so pretty similar.

They have no excuse not to beat us given we are in a rebuilding phase.

Lussick the only 1 really missing out of that bunch, though most admit I do like Parker as a good local talent but have Kelly slightly in front at this stage.....but don't like how Wright seems he would get the gig also if available....always remember.....2 Wrights make a wrong!!

Whilst you are correct - the eels 5 listed players have only 1 first grader and 1 possible as well - so very balanced.

Apparently Lussick is not injured according tot the official list as well.......

We still don't know the fate of Perrett. He was injured for the Roosters trial. If he is fit, he may just scrape in.

In the post match interview with Barrett (after Roosters trial), he mentioned that there were two spots still up for grabs. Obviously left centre, and probably a forward spot.

When asked about injuries, he first mentioned Darcy and Perrett, then seem to remember Matt Wright and said he didn't know whether any of them would be ready for round 1 yet. Darcy might be ahead of schedule by the sounds of that, as he was supposed to miss the first 4/5 rounds. I also don't think Matt Wright will be picked - it seems it's down to Kelly and Jono Wright.

There was no mention of Tafua being injured as was initially reported, so I'd suggest he will be right for round 1.

Thats true, isnt it. Have you noticed over the last couple of months the insults towards Bob Fulton and calls for him to leave the club have become almost non existent? Perhaps people have become tired of yelling but I think most can see how smart the recruiting has been. All signs are for a promising season ahead, no thanks to the crafty old fella

We have also seen a side that looks to be picked by the coach, coached by the coach and wants to play for the coach unlike last year where it appeared a 3rd party couldn't keep his nose out of it.
