NRL Casualty Ward: Ramien 'good chance' to face Cowboys

Sharks coach Craig Fitzgibbon is confident star centre Jesse Ramien can make it back for a sudden-death clash with the Cowboys in week two of the finals.

Superstar fullback Tom Trbojevic has been ruled out of Saturday night's match against the Titans due to an ongoing groin injury.

The Sea Eagles confirmed in a statement the 26-year-old underwent a final fitness test at training on Friday morning but the club has decided to take a conservative approach to ensure Trbojevic is fit to take on the Broncos in Magic Round next week.

The news comes after the club confirmed on Monday that scans had shown only a minor adductor injury. Kaeo Weekes will replace Trbojevic at fullback.

Five-eighth Josh Schuster is looking at possibly another fortnight out after succumbing to another quad injury while Brad Parker (knee) also out for 3-4 weeks after undergoing knee surgery.

Time for Weekes to show what he can do in a position he's actually familiar with. For mine he's an outside back who can play 5/8 or dummy half at a pinch.

Also a good opportunity for Reubs to push his case for a future move infield. It might be his only opportunity for a while as Koula is due back next week or the week after and Harper isn't going badly enough to warrant being dropped right now.

I hope Tuilagi on his return shows more defensive form later today than he did against Penrith.

This team still needs to prove they are not a one player team.

As for the Titans?? This will be their 12th game at Brookvale and they have a good record with 5 wins, 5 losses and 1 draw. If we play at the level we did against the Tigers, we'll be in trouble.

Probably has also been dependent on the caliber of any replacement for Turbo and really have not done too bad on balance with mainly or initially Elliot and then Reuben full filling the role well and now Kaeo to very hopefully offering something similar . Think that it is a reasonable guideline with Kaeo "s efforts at full back against the Dogs last season "s final club game . Fairly safe and some good chiming into some of the attack in probably what could be similar conditions tonight . Personally think that Turbo at his dynamic best can be worth say and just a general factor , 8 points a game and to make the difference . But again that it not to conclude that a worthy replacement can not still make a handy contribution and the side then readjusting their style a bit minus Turbo. Certainly need Kaeo on his game tonight , really hope that the conditions are not too restrictive for his natural type of game . Providing his confidence level is up and he gets plenty of team support , every chance that he can go well .

From what I recall, Weekes favoured sweep in attack is to the right where set plays this year with Turbo went to the left. I suppose with Turbo, they went left, middle & right when he saw fit.
Hopefully a productive day for Saab.......in the wet.

The off season buzz word has been structure

today we see how that works with Tom out. An awful lot of our attack funnels through Tom as a ball runner and distributor

not really seeing Kaeo in the same mould so he will need different ball to be effective. looks more effective in the tadesco mould, sniffing about, trying to catch out forward slugs with foot work and acceleration. wet track not helpful overall but could be also

be great if he had a kicking game. So many quality fullbacks but very few provide backup kicking ,
