CRUSHER URGES FANS TO ATTEND HISTORIC REUNION

Manly great Noel Cleal has urged fans to join with members of the 1987 premiership side to attend a seafood luncheon at Manly Leagues Club on Friday, March 16.
The luncheon will mark the 20 year anniversary season of the premiership title and act as a season opener for sponsors and supporters.
The win over the Canberra Raiders marked the end of an era in Rugby League with the grand final the last one played at the famous Sydney Cricket Ground. Manly - coached by Bob Fulton and captained by Paul Vautin - won 18-8 before a crowd of 50,201.
The Raiders were coached by Don Furner and Wayne Bennett and were captained by Dean Lance.
Manly's legendary five eighth Cliff Lyons scored a vital try for Manly and set up another for star centre Michael O'Connor.
Cleal has fond memories of the win.
"It was a tremendous thrill to win such a milestone game at the famous ground after it had been used on 43 prior occasions for grand finals. Manly were the best side all season and it was a deserved premiership for the club. Canberra were on the verge of great things and with young players on the up they showed signs of what was to come in the next few seasons and they didn't have to wait too long to win their first title," Cleal said.
Cleal will be a special guest at the luncheon along with 1987 team mates. Efforts are being made to track down English prop Kevin Ward to attend the luncheon.
Ward flew to Australia for the grand final and was superb in plus 35 degree heat. He has made few appearances in Australia since 1987 but club events staff are hopeful of bringing him back to Brookvale for the luncheon and the Manly v Canberra season opener the following night at Brookvale Oval.
The team will be special guests at the game and will be introduced to the crowd.
2007 coach and 1987 team member Des Hasler will make a special appearance at the luncheon along with captain Matt Orford and new buy Jamie Lyon.
1987 Salute to Glory & 2007 Season Kick-Off
Tickets are $85 (seafood lunch, beer and wine) or $800 for a table of 10.
Book before February 23rd and receive our early bird special of just $75
