fair enough but, while you will never hear me go into bat for trent , he was an excuse for the players who took no personal responsibility

Trents tactics were up for debate but never the less the way the team leaders carried them out on field at times screamed of dissent and immaturity. Trent wasnt All wrong

The kicking game , finding touch, to stop end to end footy constantly, but gaining 3 m kicking from our own half, not trying to position ourselves for a better result and just tick the box. Was that really Trent or footy players ticking the ol KPI boss

Since trent left our team has struggled with very similar issues. Not being able to compete with the ball in play for long periods, fitness, game control. Possession.

Maybe his tactics were crap, maybe he was on to something, but our execution sucked then and still does. We still ooze anxiety with a capital A

That side i mentioned sucked but using trent as THE EXCUSE has always been a big part of the problem as the growth of the TEAM has never really moved on even though the gardener did. Ownership avoided

Trent being crap doesnt excuse the players playing crap also, it was a good team with plenty of the right moving parts and the only data we have that what we are building might work if we ever get invited to a hooker party again.

Gutherson and Tom Trbojevic would have played only two or three games together. Gutherson emerged in 2014 and left at the end of 2015. Turbo started in 2015. Manly came second in 2014 and 9th in 2015. DCE was the half in both seasons

Tom and Clint have never played first grade together.
Clint did his Anterior cruciate in round 1, 2015 season.
Tommy debut was round 5, 2015.

What a terrible contract for the club though. We'll pay you massive overs AND you can up and leave whenever you want. Fair play to him and his manager on getting that one over the line though.

Nah their fans are used to losing so I doubt they'd be even bothered.

I always give **** about Gutho being a sook to the refs and sounding and looking like an 8 year old that’s in the car and begs their mum or dad to get maccas and watching them drive straight past it telling you that their is food at home but I truly feel sad for the fans that weren’t able to give a proper goodbye/farewell, especially the little kids whose favourite player was him, I couldn’t imagine if that was us with Turbo and no supporters got their chance to do a proper farewell.

The nhl do it well in that when a player comes back against their former team, that team will do a short montage with a voiceover and the fans get to applaud, etc.

Though in Rugby league (or maybe it's an aussie thing) the fans just want to boo like jerkasauras as when Brooks played against the tigers.

They allow $1 contracts so players can 'retire' with the team they played at the most:
