Agreed. I’d call him a solid player with an exceptionally competitive attitude. It’s that attitude that has seen him play good consistent footy over the years.

King Gutho was actually shortened from King of Parramatta (which you can blame Joey for)...

It is not quite the same as Wally but, unfortunately, any distinction between the two terms has been "lost in translation" (and by Aussies' obsessive tendancy to shorten everything)...

Personally I have always maintained the distinction and he probably was the King of Parramatta until recently when Moses took over (imo)... these days that team is heavily, heavily reliant upon MM so, really, "the king is dead - long live the king"...

This is why I actually think Ryles is onto something switching him to dummy half... Guthos pace and change of direction is compromised but his football nous and passing skills remain elite...

this move could actually extend his career - it will come down to how his body holds up to the additional defensive work required...

Surely no one can be that bad, I thought Peter Sharpe was the worst coach but he is a champion compared to Barrett.
