While it may seem inconceivable for many to put our current best fullback at centre, without a doubt, we become a far stronger team with Turbo at right centre and the prodigious Lehi as our fullback.

Turbo at right centre strengthens one of our biggest weaknesses. He plays this position so well, over-qualified for the role, he roams and is at times unstoppable from this position. His experience, communication and IQ immediately fixes our defensive woes too. (I also believe a player lake Bateman here, with Garrick on right wing makes this edge world class - Ola'akautu would benefit more playing alongside Brooks. But that's a debate for another thread I think).

Despite the fact that Turbo is our best fullback, he is actually our best right centre - and by a fair bigger margin!

We are blessed to have our future fullback already very capable, and an International already. For our long-term outlook, Lehi has an amazing opportunity to get in valuable years behind an experienced spine with Turbo in his ear and by his side. Moving him around, bench, reserve grade, etc will only slow his progress.

This would be a massive move by Seibold - but I believe a wonderful opportunity to best use our 'weapons' to maximum effort.
I think there is a bit of inevitability about hoppas future earnings and position
Despite Tom being a champion, the opportunity to put both in the team every week and to grow Lehis game is becomming a must
Succession planning to ensure best use of the cap, and maybe swapping them about a bit to ensure hoppas path is nutured would be a smart move

I also reckon Toms might jump at a chance of a downgrade in responsibility and might enjoy a high paid centre position. I really reckon he has too much manly on his headspace, and a peninsular on his shoulders

If Garrick is named at centre, with the plentiful options the team now has to avoid this mistake (Koula Talau Tom - with Koula or Lehi FB, or even Ben T is better at centre than Garrick).

I'm supporting the Dolphins
Brbo a better center than Garrick…….yeah ok lololololol. Guess he’s a better goal kicker, try scorer, has speed to burn also.

You don't play a player in a position because he is the best player you play him where is it serves the team the most. Pete W's analysis is spot on. Tom has proven this already in origin and at the International level. I'm sure he'll give it a 100% wherever he is asked to play because he is a processional that bleeds for his club. Seibs needs make the tough calls that need to be made if he wants success and there are a few to be made and quickly.

Good case to go or try to go that way with a Turbo centre switch but very much doubt it anytime soon .
Certainly not defensively but attack and maximizing attacking opportunities , Turbo would still offer more from the back and best benefit to the side overall.
Only other realistic starting position naturally for Lehi , wing , but can only be a good situation having the option of maybe contemplating such a switch at any future stage or near future

Lehi has the skill to play centre, he just needs to bulk up a bit.

I think the idea of Tommy and Lehi switching occassionally during a game is a great idea.

Garrick has to be in the side justr for his goal kicking, however, I agree with most that his best position is on the wing.

That would leave Talau and Saab fighting for the other wing spot.

For mine, where Tom serves the team best is a Fullback.

Currently for sure, but in the very forseeable future that may not be quite as clear cut. Its very possible that next season with some long term coaching tactics hoppa gets his fair share if game time in 25 and is hopefully ready by 26

Is it possible or likely to have that idea in the pipeline

Its Toms jersey to lose , which sounds weird considering he is THE MAN

If however Seibs came to a realisation it may open up our game instead of backdooring it all day , to Tom , and its strategic , then thats a different chat i suppose

What about koula/hoppa on the bench

1. Turbo
2. Saab
3. Talau
4. Hoppa/koula
5. Garrick

14. Koula/hoppa

Seems to be an injury to outside backs nearly every game which gives us good cover & spark off the bench....

And yes I realise this leaves us a forward short but generally the last forward barely gets any minutes anyway

In todays game I'm an advocate of this strategy.

Especially is Jazz is one of your bench forwards who can cover hooker for 10min or so

I'm not convinced that Lehi should replace Turbo at fullback just yet, but what's plain as day is that he has to be in the top 17. How to juggle that week in, week out will be just one of many problems for Seibold to solve.

Both players played really well in the Pacific championship.

But Lehi needs to be our fullback next year and Tom can roam at centre.
Koula the other centre.
Ruben wing, Talau wing.

Turbo was such a threat in origin and the tests at centre and Lehi will be a great fullback.
turbo only played amazing for australia because of the quality players around him. I think koula is born a winger, TT and Garrick to me are the centres.

Our backline is too strong to not carry one of them on the bench. I think Koula is probably the best suited to it. He could come on as a roving lock against tired defenses and use his speed around the ruck to create some havoc.

Realistically though, injuries will all but guarantee that they rotate in and out of the lineup.

Hey Max, why do you keep posting like this?

Get a grip.

If Manly were in a grand final and had Ben Trboijevic at centre instead of Reuben Garrick I would be much happier.

That's my opinion. You clearly have no idea about rugby league and are just one of these blokes who needs a sense of familiarity, likes to put the jersey on on a Saturday and feel included.

I get that fella.

Good luck mate.

Garrick is a terrible centre. And death comes for us all.

This is undeniable, even if you do have a poster of Ruby Dooby Doo above your bed kid.
