Laurie Daley

He was an instinctive player. Doesn’t necessarily translate into coaching success, in fact usually doesn’t.
Give the guy a break mate!! You honestly don’t think just his presence at training won’t be a good uplift for our young up & coming players…..predominantly Walsh & Large? How would you know what will come of his appointment? Maybe give him a chance before death riding any signings or appointments? BTW many a good player has become a good coach……currently Stuart, Slater, Meninga, Cleary, Hasler, Bellamy, Ciraldo etc. & prior Bozo, Toovey, Folkes, Gould just to name a few!

As they intimated on NRL360, why would someone who has aspirations to be a head of football need a “sounding board”? A head of football is supposed to provide the answers, not someone who has to ask the questions. It might make sense if it was a Wayne Bennett type, but Laurie Daley? Dumb and dumber. Just another step on a downwa
Exactly. This is the thing I find so puzzling. I have no objection to Daley having a role in our coaching and I can see plenty of good that could come from it. But why does the guy who fancies himself as a Coaching Director seem to need his hand held so much? It is just weird.

The death riding on here this evening is peak level.

We don’t even know his role yet , or how much ( or little ) he’s involved.

And it’s like the sky has fallen in.

I hope there is plenty of black boot polish (with that added claret tinge) in the dressing room. Laurie does need a bit for his hair.

No one person, whoever it is, will fix the sh1tfight within our club. Bandaid solutions, clutching at straws. This will not address all the issues within the joint. If thats negative, typical ST, death-riding, well so be it. We have more problems, than just the coach and his lack of ability to get this team going.

I didn’t say players don’t become good players. I said instinctive players don’t usually, because they had the natural talent to just play and not over think it. Players who had to work at being good are usually better candidates for coaching.
