With Baz mentioning Croker, he has firmed in the market and probably deserves his own thread so we can learn more about him.

I confess to knowing little about him, but found this 2016 (mounties) tape, and the fact he was named in the emerging Blues squad. Does anyone have more info?

I know that he was selected at half in the Aust U20 team only 18 months ago with Clearly picked at 5/8, Nikorima at Hooker and Jackson Hastings on the bench so he must have some talent. Spent last year playing for the Mounties so had a full year playing against 'the big boys'. Pretty good stats for assists and line breaks. Hope he can make the step up.

I think he will start round 1 in the six jumper he is having an excellent off season and does have the baggage hastings has. Hope he kicks on.

Has heaps of pace and can hit an edge man with a precise short pass.
The word is his defence is the downfall or would still be in the Capital.
Happy to let him and Hastings surprise us all and have a breakout season 2018.

I would suggest that defence is an issue for 99% of all 19yo's playing their initial first grade games ... it takes time to adjust to the faster pace and better opposition. It is not necessarily an inherent trait.

eg Kelly will be better for the experience.

The goodun's make the transition fairly quickly.

The Croker Story .....
Early career

From 2014 to 2016, Croker played for the Canberra Raiders' NYC team.[3] On 11 November 2015, he re-signed with the Raiders on a 2-year contract until the end of 2017.

2016
In February, Croker got the chance to play with his uncle Jason at the 2016 NRL Auckland Nines.[5] For the 2016 season, he captained the Raiders' NYC side.[6] In round 2 of the 2016 NRL season, he made his NRL debut for the Raiders against theSydney Roosters.[7][8] That would be his only NRL appearance for the season.

2017
Croker was unable to break back into the Raiders' NRL side in 2017. In November, he signed a 1-year contract with the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles, starting in 2018.

*Ricky didn't resign him because he obviously didn't rate him
*No other clubs seemed to show interest in him
*He came looking for an opportunity with us .
* He has shown ability in the youth comp
*One solo NRL game experience back in 2016
