Knock-ons - Need Fixing?

Just watching some of the rulings in the Manly-Parra game.

Would it make life easier for the refs and less stressful for the fans if the rule was changed to say the a ball is not deemed to have projected forward until it passes a line positioned on the side of the player that is facing the opposition goal line, i.e. it passes the player towards the opposition goal line?

I just can't see the perceived (illegal) benefit in drawing a ball towards you when you are facing your own goal line.

Thoughts?

All dropped balls are knock-ons.......unless if you play for the roosters of course

It is so bad and entrenched that the commentators actually agree with these ridiculous knock on calls simply because basically every ball that hits the ground in the last few year is deemed forward.and it’s become ingrained.

If the decisions were criticised as harshly by the commentariat as some other errors are we might get the NRL to address what is a blight on the game.

The only blight on the game is the 2 gimps running the fuking game into the ground.

the referees today were clueless. the penalties against Manly when the slippery's couldn't get through the first set or two, or when we had momentum were pathetic..

Most refs don't have a feel for the game. I don't know whether it's because they never played the sport but sooo many knock-backs are ruled knock-ons.
This has been happening for years, and it's getting worse.
Maybe the NRL Refs need to be embarrassed by getting a couple of Union Refs do a Mid Week 'Seminar' at NRL Ref Training, to teach them the difference between a knock on and a knock back.
IF NRL refs were refereeing Union, there would be no Mauls!

Forget the rules, we need to CATCH the BALL. If we catch the ball then we don’t need to think about the rules. That’s what rugby league is Catching a ball. Simple really. No brainer.
