May need him....badly. My mail says that the delays with exit strategies for Matai & Snake is because we are awaiting confirmation from the NRL that these exits will be treated as Medical retirements and therefore payouts are not included in salary cap. Supposably they have been waiting nearly 2 months and as a consequence Manly have had to let signings leave within the 10 day cooling off periods. This would explain why the rumoured signings were never announced. Should this be true that's crap from the NRL. Could understand delays on Snake but fair dinkum Matai? Seriously his payout should have flown through. Manly misses out on quality players and by the time NRL does the right thing it's too late and we miss out and another season of frustration. It almost smacks of a conspiracy and they want Manly to fail. One way to get us to move? Just totally pissed off!

Possibly because they want their money? Think the Matai versus Watmough situation is similar, Matai's more severe, no brainer. Think Snake thing more sinister, think most agree (and fair enough) that snake got stiffed by the NRL and lost heaps of marketing dollars. Rightly so he thinks he deserves the $'s he would have earned as face of the NRL. At the end of the day we do our job and we want true value for our efforts. Seriously guys, if in same situation, would you turn up? I'm a supporter (but I hate the way he returns the kick - it's the old - very old fullback in me!), but really you need to ask the question on whether his heart is in it anymore.
