This bloke is our PL captain so I'm guessing he has some talent. Whats the opinion on him, will he get at crack at first grade this year.

My second question is, why cant second rowers play front row? The scrum factor is negated these days due to the fact that the ball goes straight to the lock anyway. With our lack of depth in front rowers and extensive depth in back rowers is it worth a shot??

no he wont he is a good PL player but by far not a Fist grader, that is why he is captain because he will rarely be absent. He is getting on in years now too

Have to agree with Dan - he is a clubman - always there, ever reliable but not to first grade standard

As for second rowers - they strugle to bust over the advantage line when up against a set defence, they tend to run more for gaps/in between players. Tigers did this last year and got away with it through quick play the balls and talented halves - we havnt had this luxury. Once we settle on a 5/8 we should see more wide runnning backrowers.
