Did you see his interview after there big loss. Really nice to see a player telling the truth, no smiles, no rubbish talk for rubbish play. No "we are looking forward to next weeks challenge " only to not be a challenge at all.

The cows are soft, but so are manly. As he says a number of times, there is no steel. The only way you fix a problem is first admitting you have one. We are so in denial at manly . I cant watch our player interviews. They just seem too content

One assumes at least the cows are on the way to fixing it, where manly are still picking daisies. We have dead set become the latte sipping fancy pants , blouse wearing , girly arms
Add mcguire to our gets on a short term contract with sua and brown with paseka , jake and aioli and huamole and let the forward pack bash any back that doesnt respect the grit and yardage they bring by overplaying, and playing there own game.
Get it done

I agree with your sentiments but McGuire has been there since 2019 and nothing has changed
Was about to say the same thing. It’s just another form of lip service imo. Both clubs have got their issues but I think we have more of an upside then the cows. Payten needs to be careful up there as it’s clear those ain’t buying what he’s selling right now.

Also worth nothing that external language and internal can be very different.

Dont take what is being said in interviews as gospel in terms of how the club is feeling and approaching things

Yep very true but the Cows have had player/coach issues for a while now,at least as far back as Graham Murray,so this is nothing new.Payton is trying to sort that out.

McGuire is part of the cows problem, his become more marsh mellow than steel himself, his past it, sad to say but his just to old and ineffective for today’s game, his time is well and truly over. I personally never rated the guy anyway.
i Get the idea you need some experience and a couple of older heads out there to steer the side and help the young guys but and it’s a big but, I think it’s becoming an old school line of thought, youth is the future of the game, panthers are the proof, there are to many players picked week after week based on reputation over form, or loyalty over results as is the case at manly. How long will it take for Des to adapt or alter his approach? Is it even a possibility? Lets see what happens later this afternoon. Our level of professionalism has been and is being exposed badly, don’t worry to much about the cows, who cares about them anyway, we have enough problems of our own that need attention. I felt like saying for god sake, but the way things are in our backyard, I don’t even think he can help us at the moment, it’s going to require some honesty and lots of change before we see things turn around in a truely positive way and that can only happen if the powers that be can accept the reality of our results and admit that it’s not good enough, then show some leadership, it begins with honesty. Ive said it before failing to recognise failure will not bring success, we are failing, that’s obvious for all to see. I love the fact that some on here can hold strong and see us turning it around, i on the other hand I have lost my patience and my faith in the current status quo, I want some accountability, some change and some results. It’s seriously looking like a 0/7 start to the year imo and that’s the season over, I’ll still watch every game and I’ll still hope well win games but the reality is very different, I’d like to seem some leadership and some changes, soon.

Nice add

McGuire actually said exactly that himself and that it is not good enough...

I cannot stand McGuire but he does rip in - unlike many at the cows...

What Buzz and Kent were saying about Tuomololo, Holmes and Payton on NRL360 last night gave me hope that we are playing for 15th at worst... sounds like they have a real big f*cking problem in Townsville...

Careful ... steady ... the card carrying head spokesman for the Numbnut Coalition attacked me for even suggesting some of our forwards weren't pack animals and cuddled the opposition to the ground ....

Thanks for the heads up. Ill say @Woodsie encouraged me .

But in the fair dinkum department we should be looking for 3 rd party sponsorship from tontine, tampax , or oil of ulan for our bunch of lily wristed manscapers

Ive also heard from an insider ( not club, but one of the insiders that lives in my head ) that a few of the players will only play in the hoops jumper because the others make them look fat.

Yep meetings with managers etc. that’s what I didn’t include in my first post referencing Payten needing to be careful. Holmes imo is all hype anyway. JT on the other hand Tgey can’t afford to lose.

I watch McGuire closely due to Supercoach and whilst he's still a good solid player who does his share of work.... he's been playing within himself for a while now. Doesn't let the side down but isn't half the player he was. Not unlike one of our very own props.
He's on huge coin at the Cowboys and isn't really giving value for money. I think this is just him positioning himself in front of the fans as the storm clouds gather.
