Can or can’t?Way I see it. We can have both on the books especially if neither is a starting Prop.
I would think the latter.
I was hoping Lodge and AOA would knock ✊ each other out in the “boxing”

I think that the coach and football department and marketing department could have sourced the players views first before implementing the pride jersey.Aloiai has been less than underwhelming at Manly.
When he decided to stand up & spearhead the anti- Pride jersey campaign, my immediate thought was “you’ve been here 5 minutes & done SFA on field so pull your head in & just concentrate on playing well for us”.
He’s made more noise about fighting Paul Gallen & becoming a minister than he has on field.
He lost me forever over his bigotry in relation to the jersey saga, a player I wish was not at our club!I think that the coach and football department and marketing department could ha =ve sourced the players views first before implementing the pride jersey.
Just sayin’
Ok !He lost me forever over his bigotry in relation to the jersey saga, a player I wish was not at our club!
It was extremely badly handled by the club and there should have been a wider consultation in relation to this idea.Ok !
But my point was only that any junior marketing person would know that you test the market BEFORE you implement the idea. I’m not a football fan of Aloiai, but credit to him he stands by his views. I feel that his views may be representative of the wider island community… we need to seek the views of all our stakeholders not just the white Australian marketing department and the white football department.
Before you criticise me, I am a massive fan of players like Ian Roberts and I don’t give a toss if someone is straight or gay ….. I just feel that more thought should have been implemented before action!
Just sayin’
I 100% agree with your second paragraph! It was extremely badly handled by the club and there should have been a wider consultation in relation to this idea.
Remember that 10 players opted not to play a game that we needed to win and Aloia said things that were discrimatory, bigoted and really unforgiveable!
Just saying!
Aloia is no leader! His comments at that time demonstrated that.I 100% agree with your second paragraph!
But you could say the same about Donald Trump …. And now he is the president of the most powerful nation!
There is a saying in leadership ‘ stand up for what you believe even if you stand alone’
Anyway I to was disappointed with the things he said … but not to be derogatory I don’t feel that he is the smartest or most articulate member in the team. I personally don’t take any notice of his comments
No ! He is a leader …. Maybe a dumb leader… but the fact that 10 other players followed him rather than the clubs directive , proves he is a leader.Aloia is no leader! His comments at that time demonstrated that.
The fact is the club did not win a game after that farce and it killed the 2022 season.
A leader of bigotory and exclusiveness is what he was and it split our club in a huge way. A dark time for our club!No ! He is a leader …. Maybe a dumb leader… but the fact that 10 other players followed him rather than the clubs directive , proves he is a leader.
There has been plenty of younger players say he is a leader over the last 3-4 years (mainly islanders). I think most people would listen to the players opinions on this considering they are with him daily but maybe you are right…A leader of bigotory and exclusiveness is what he was and it split our club in a huge way. A dark time for our club!

One of Manly’s more perplexing decisions of the 21st Century. From my perspective it’s about balancing the pack and introducing some speed into the forwards. His contract was up and IMO it was time to change some personnel not resign him for another 2 years. Poor decision in my view stuck in sand.
Not really my point though - he'd been here 5 minutes & done nothing of note onfield yet put himself at the forefront of a team mutiny.I think that the coach and football department and marketing department could have sourced the players views first before implementing the pride jersey.
Just sayin’
His playing response to being prone to regular howlers appears to be to go missing in games completely!May well be a leader off the field, but on the field is where he gets paid he has failed to lead the team in his primary role as a dominant front rower.
An inconsistent player for the club who goes missing more times than being a leader on the field for the club, would have more respect if he could lead with his actions and results on the field.
