Sene-Lefao: You can't beat Brookie

Sea Eagles forward Jesse Sene-Lefao has labeled Manly’s emphatic come from behind victory against Penrith at Brookvale Oval last Sunday, as the best win in his NRL career.

“We waited for the last two minutes, the crowd got behind us at Brookvale. It was awesome,” Sene-Lefao said.

“It was one of my best wins in the NRL and we’re really happy to get the two points.”

Sene-Lefao, who joined Manly from Penrith at the start of the 2013 season, which saw club legend Jason King sent of as a winner, was made all the more special by the 18,654 fans that turned up to cheer the boys home.

“You can’t beat it,” he said,

“I didn’t really know much about Brookie oval when I came from out west,

“Certainly now playing there a few times and I think we’ve only lost one game there this year, its something really important too me.

“It’s unreal, you really can’t hear your players out there, the crowd just gets behind us. They’re really supportive; when we’re on the up they’re right behind us.

“It gives me energy on the field and I feel like I get pumped up as well.”

Sene-Lefao has been a mainstay off Geoff Toovey’s bench this year and has found a home at the Sea Eagles. He’s played in all but one NRL matches this season and added energy when injected into the games.

“I feel like I’m a part of the crowd, part of the team and that I’m a part of Manly now,” Sene-Lefao conceded.

As Manly prepare for their tenth straight finals campaign, 2014 will mark the first time that Jesse is given the opportunity to play finals football, and he believes that the experience of the players around him will be invaluable.

“Yeah it’s an exciting time for myself and also the team, we know these big games are pretty important to the club, we just want to go out there fighting, do our best and get the win,” he said.

“We’ve got Jason King, Choc, and we’ve still got Gifty there that helps us. So with their experience it gives me a lot of confidence on the field and also it’s easy to turn too and get help.”

Awesome, it must sound and feel amazing in the middle of the field.
The look on T-Reds face when he scored that try, Choc just looking pumped!

It was amazing.

JSL really did have energy in the last 5 as well and wanted his hands on the ball a lot. That is a the sign of a champion player that they want the ball in hand when the game is in the balance

Jesse is a keeper no doubt
His feeling that he is part of the crowd and the game is endearing :)

But I was equally as thrilled with the reporter - young Jake! Obviously a talent on and off the field. :)

I wish Jesse the best of luck in his first finals series with the Mighty Eagles.
Time for him to get used to it.

Just found this too. Seems like a good guy as well.

The crowd also got noticably louder as he pelted himself at the Penrith defence late in the game. Would like to find a replay of that moment.

As often as I have enjoyed that video in the past few days, it isn't the one I'm looking for. :D

Soward the Sook.

JSL was a revelation after he came on against the Riff. He and Lui really straightened our attack and helped make that win go from seemingly mission impossible to absolute reality.

The kid is a keeper.

He has been excellent, and should only get better.
He holds the ball in one hand which worried me at first, but I can't recall him having it knocked out of his hands, which must be huge.
He's a big strong forward which is what we need.

yep, a very solid player who will thrive with us at Manly.

Great bloke too, you can see he geniunely enjoys being here :)

I had to get on the chair to see over Sowards tantrum.

I was on the fence when Jesse came around with the rest of the team he was like a 10 year old the biggest smile on his face and getting photos with fans that asked.
