Haven't spotted anything on here about it yet, NRL 360 are saying Jason King has taken up a role at the NRL, can remember the job title, I'm sure one of the gurus on here will be able to produce an article with all the details, but basically his job will be frontman that comes out and talks to the media when issues arise so you will see less of Greenberg and co doing that

NRL Kingdog he is

MANLY premiership winning prop Jason King continues to make his mark off the field, stepping up into a senior role within the NRL’s football department.

King has been appointed general manager of elite competitions, meaning he will be second in charge of the NRL’s football program behind NRL’s head of football Brian Canavan.

The role will see King lead and develop the game’s elite competitions through football operations, medical, elite programs with national teams and targeted football programs.

“I’ll work closely with NRL clubs, states, rep teams, coaches and various committees,” King said.

“Football operations and the NRL competition will be take up the bulk of my time. I’m deeply passionate about the game.

“It’s an opportunity that I saw as a fantastic one, offering me the capacity to serve the game and build on the strong relationships that I’ve been able to established in the game throughout my journey.”

Having studied law during his decorated career, which included two games for NSW, King has successfully transitioned into head office since retiring in 2014 after 239 games.

He was an NRL paralegal for one year before moving onto his current role of government partnerships and commercial projects manager last year.

King wants a long-term future in rugby league administration.

“I’m not looking too far ahead but I certainly want to contribute to the game in a capacity as a leader,” King said.

“I’m not sure what that looks like this but this is a big step towards that. “I’m honoured and humbled to serve the game in this capacity.

King will start in the football department on August 21.
