Considering the girl claims that she was a virgin, you would think it unlikely she would voluntarily sleep with a guy she had just met on the night. Its also coincidental the Hayne plane departed at the same time the complaints were made. You do have to wonder though how this just comes out now, being 18 month since the complaint. How much will it take to shut her up out of court is my guess.

The article when i first read it wasn't as detailed as it is now. It was a shortened version and only mentioned the girl came out with the accusations 12 months after the incident and that there was no evidence to support her claim. An then a further 12 months later she's after money.

A lot of victims of sexual assault don't report it immediately or ever so you can't discount her based off timing. It's also very hard to prove sexual assault in a criminal proceeding. The conviction rates are quite low. All you have to do is create doubt.

A YOUNG woman who accused Aussie NRL superstar Jarryd Hayne of rape, claims to be in possession of bombshell evidence which she says could be used for testing.
The woman, known only as “Ms V”, says she took Jarryd Hayne’s “undergarment” as proof of the alleged assault for police to test in the future.
Explosive court documents viewed by news.com.au allege that in December, 2015, the woman woke up in bloodied sheets and “was in shock and wanted to leave”.
“She quickly decided that if she reported to the police she would need some kind of proof and took [Hayne’s] undergarment in case there was need for testing,” the court documents allege.
