Jamil Hopoate gone

Good luck to Jamil, hope he can get a chance somewhere.

He will need to improve his defence if he wants to go for that workhorse lock role. His QLD cup stats are pretty average for tackle efficiency around the 85% mark if I recall correctly.

We could do a lot worse than bring Jamil home. He's a talented tough customer, somewhat like Watmough was, an 80 minute player who plays with aggression in both attack and defence. We need that sort of player at Manly.

Spoke to a mate of mine Terry Webb who manages the Dolphins first grade squad last week. Said he has really turned himself around and been a great influence in the dressing room. Was great all year for them. Not sure if he can step up a cog but by all reports his attitude is 100 percent better.

Sue, he was always a class ahead of the Reggies. As is pointed out, attitude was his problem. If he is now committed to his game, he'll make first grade with ease.
