Is it time for 3rd Grade?

Is it time for the Sydney Clubs to start a 3rd Grade competition obviously to sit between the NSW Cup and the Under 20's?
Just might be a way for clubs to try and hold onto some of the 20's and give them another season or two to earn a contract in the top 30 or second tier.
Need to be salary capped to say $300,000, so Easts can use this money to buy Inglis (just joking).

Also, I know we have the Massey Cup and Sydney Shield but they don't feel like feeder clubs. They don't play at the NRL grounds so hard to feel a lot of love.
And, the Clubs can name them after themselves not a neighbouring suburb.

Yeah its an interesting thought as the jump from 20s is NSW/QLD cup. These divs are now official 2nd grade and will have alot of older/more mature players.

Is it a case of potentially adjusting age groups? So make it an under 21s, and SG ball a under 19s. Dont know the answer to this.

Suppose the new NSW/QLD cups will weed out the ones who are not NRL standard.

FYI 3rd grade was last played in 1984. In 1985 it was replaced by u23’s but you could play 2 over aged players. As well as 3rd Grade or u23’s there was also a 5 round u21’s comp.

Something like the old president's cup maybe u/21.
Those comps back in 84/85 where you could play a couple of overage players were good but we're brought in by rugby league thinking people.
They no longer exist save for silvertails.
So is there anything for these players next year?
Any stepping stone for players between s.g. ball and NSW cup?
Probably not. They can go and play union.

No other competitions could be financed whilst Greenturd throws all the money at NRL and increased monies at the few SOO and Roos Players 😎

Imo it was always best when it was:

12:00 Presidents Cup U21's
13:35 Reserve Grade
15:10 First Grade

But i am not sure the depth would be there for another grade after NSW Cup..? Or money from Toddles, as Happily Manly pointed out
