Not sure how true this is but it was sent to me by a mate earlier and knowing him i'd say it's pretty close........

With Round 20 out of the way, time to revisit history and look who historically is out of the Premiership race...

No eventual Premier has come from outside the Top 7, after a Round 20 fixture;
No eventual Premier has had a negative for/against, after Round 20; and
The lowest for/against at this point, was the 2005 Tigers with +17, followed by Canterbury in 1995 with +47.
It's time to say 'no victory lap for you' to

Melbourne (denied), Cronulla, North Queensland, Canterbury, Newcastle, Canberra, Parramatta, Brisbane and Souths (outside top 7); Gold Coast, New Zealand, Wests Tigers and Sydney Roosters (negative or below +17 f/a).

This leaves one of the following teams as the most likely to win the Premiership based on historical data;

Illawarra/St.George, Penrith and Manly.

If ever there was a year when stats like these will be changed this is the one. There is deadset bugger all diff between at least 6 teams this year. Injuries will play a big role and the winner could come from anywhere. All the same my serious money is on Manly as always!

i am already on penrith manly final from may at 166/1 because all my family go for penrith and i manly????only hope....now it is only paying 27/1

what are we paying now...about $7

lazy $1000 on that will pay for 1/2 the trip to Leeds

just as well i didn't cancel my months Long service leave when all the doomsdays were out a few weeks ago....think i'll hold onto them for a few more weeks yet.....just in case

Let me narrow it down for you, there are 4 teams that can win this;

St George, Penrith, Manly, Sydney City.

It will be St George vs one of the other three in the GF (hopefully us!)

Its going to cost $16k to go to leeds?

I got 26's along with 11's and 16's so it will be a great result. Also did Dogs/Manly quinella at something like 126-1 but I think that is gone.

i think from mermory the basic trip in 09 was about $4,500 pp which was 4 nights Leeds and 4 nights London + flights and the rest. worth every cent

Haha sorry for insinuating a redneck link :D I have a very strong Irish connection in my family tree - in fact my Dad used to recount many an Irish rebel song when I was a youngster. They were from County Clare which is horse-racing country and my wife from County Sligo. I have been before but always good to go back.

would love a manly rooster GF.... back to where it all began in 72 (or did with beat sharks in 72??? i forget :( )
