Will the religious right push to ban player number 666?

Actually there has been a suggestion among religious scholars that in fact the number for the Devil wasnt 666 but rather 616. An error in translation. So who was 616? C'arn. Fess up.

Happily Manly says it was Keppie!

Well that would destroy Iron Maiden's big hit then ! Far less catchy.

As a matter of interest, rugbyleagueproject.org already has us at 620 players, before yesterday.

If you look closely though, someone has snuck the names of Billy Slater and Cameron Smith (both with the same DOB) into the alphabetical list.

There are a few random Storm players in that list. Has been like that for quite a while - I did send them a message a few years back about it but nothing was done.

The young guy Jason Annear was included after his untimely death a few years ago. Is he on the 'official' list or no?

Yes he is on the official club list. Funny thing is that they had to renumber everyone a few years back because the club got Middo (or someone like him) to audit all the games and players and I think we ended up with another half a dozen players on the list, which changed quite a few of the player numbers. They kept Annear's number the same though, so he is a little out of whack in terms of chronological order.

By the way that list on Rugby League Project isn't an official list. If you go to the Footy Club website you can download the annual reports and they have the official list and player numbers in there for all Manly first grade players

Albert Hopoate player # 620. Pleased he is making his debut for us in this crazy year and not the Warriors. 24th player we have used this year

Third Hoppa to play for the mighty Sea Eagles. Joins the Lussicks and the Fultons in the father and 2 sons club.

Good luck to him. It's been a while between drinks for him so wish him all the best.

Morgan Harper Player # 621 - scored a double on debut. Good solid game. Welcome aboard.

Josh Schuster Player # 622. Showed some nice touches but lack of match fitness saw him struggle to see out the game. Tough coming into first grade on the back of having no footy under your belt. Long awaited debut and he didn't look overawed by the occasion. Welcome aboard.

So 3 debutantes this weekend Aloiai (#624), Saab (#625) and Davey (#626).

Karl Lawton player #628 does one better than brother Kayne by making first grade against Eels in an emotional win

Christian Tuipulotu gets a couple of minutes off the bench as 18th man in same game to be player #629

Ben Trbojevic becomes the 3rd Turbo brother to play first grade at Manly as player #630. That's a first as far as I know, 3 brothers to play first grade for Manly.

We've added Kurt De Luis (631), Ethan Bullemore (632) and Tolu Koula (633) since last update.

Well done Kaeo Weekes on your debut last night to be player #634. Only a small cameo in an unfamiliar role in a bludger of a game, so not the most memorable first game. So here's hoping there are some better opportunities ahead for you in the Maroon and White. Welcome to the club
