Probably to get the completion rates up considerably also . Really up against it in quite a few games last season with limited possession . Have to use Oloka - atu to the best effect , had a good season overall last season , plenty of quality ball for Koula . Hopefully in conjunction with Flanagan , a defensive structure that won 't consistently leak points on the scale of last season . Don :t have much control in the injury department and keeping Turbo on the field but can certainly get the fitness and resilience level up to speed for the whole squad . How to adjust the play to compensate for the loss of Foz and Walker and to bring on the younger grouping in good measure .

Enabling and gelling the different groups under the different coaches.

Going from Dominant Des to three or four specialised coaches will be the trick to modernise our structures. Surely Flanno, Dymock and Hales under Siebs can pay more personal attention to player development and growth with more experience than Des could with a couple of inexperienced assistants with no autonomy across the team of 30 players.

Add Jake to your soft list. He might make 50 takes. But he often doesnt even
win his own forward contest? Needs to be individually more dominant running the ball.
Jake has been well below his dominant best playing in the Manly colours
Especially Well below his creative ball playing best
Under Des Jake became a duplication of the one dimensional defensive Croker

Seibs and Mestrov for that matter must over our clubs Coach and CEO Curse of infighting and disputes that have been a big issue in our club over the years

Another Challege for seibs is to overcome the Des Dilemma of struggling to win the big games without the Big tomy turbo
Seibolds challenge is to Rev up our team firing up in all cylinders in Resilient revolutions igniting our combustion chambers in the dressing sheds so we can come out and blast all the big teams away

Personally I think he’s one of the coaches under the most pressure , he’ll be right for the year regardless but the expectation is we will do a LOT better.

And we might , and I certainly hope we do, but boy oh boy it’s going to be tough.

Unknown quantity for our star player

Yep , the pressure is on , BIG TIME!!

The biggest challenges that Seibold faces is to bring the squad together and end the factions that divided and killed our 2022 season.

We need an emphasis on defence as we were woeful in that area last season and too many times conceded consecutive tries and our resilience was non existent in the end of the season.

We have to manage games better, this is a significant weakness we have and until we improve that we are going to struggle especially against the top teams.

I also hope to see failure not being rewarded and young players given a sustained chance to cement a future.

We have pretty much been written off by most critics in the game. I expect a moderate start as the team needs time to gel and get better as the season kicks on!

It probably won’t gel overnight either so we are going to have to be patient.

If we could win say 4/ 8 that’s a start , then win 5 of the next 8 , then 6/8 , that would be a great year.

I have a feeling it’ll be more like 3/8 then
4/8 then 3/8 to finish about 11th / 12th.

Others have said it, but fitness is the key imo. Line speed in defence, three instead of two in the tackle to slow the ruck down (legitimately), and more bodies in motion in attack will see us improve dramatically. But these three team attributes only happen if everyone is extremely fit.

Attitude can fix that too , attitude to be working as one , to be fitter, to make winning everything.

The attitude last year was “ who gives a **** , certainly not me “.

I agree. Until we start winning, it will take a lot for us fans to forget last year’s own goals, self-implosion and perceptions of self-interest.

Honestly , if the attitude changes and they are trying their guts out , even if they lose I’d be happy.

It was that pitiful , don’t give a **** , couldn’t care less attitude that I hated most about last year.

You just know when they are having a crack and when they aren’t.

A must of them last year , in the second half of the year , were hardly even trying.

Said in jest, but for me his greatest challenge is to gain the backing of the fans to allow him the time to imprint his DNA on the team. That's game plan and personnel.

I don't expect results to really improve until 2025.

I'm ok with this, because this is the first time in a while I have seen the club come together and strategise a long term plan for success.

I hope that both he, and the owners can stay the distance because it won't be easy to withstand the pressure.

The head noise. If we start slowly keeping the mental gremlins (his own and the players) at bay will be his biggest challenge.

We play Eels, Bunnies, Panthers and Storm in our first 6. We need to at least be competitive in these or its gonna be a long season.

The Manly Competitive Perspective ...

If we are competitive in our first 6 games we should win them

Losing is not an option at Manly

The option to losing at Manly is looking for another coach

If Legends Des and Toovey were not safe , No other coach that fails to meet finals expectations will be safe

We should always maintain our Benchmark of Excellence at Manly
If we lower our Great standards
We stand for Nothing great

Anything than a 2023 finals performance for Manly with the quality playing squad we have is an under achievement failure
Any coach that does not have the capabilities to exceed expectations can not succeed in our grand final WINNING aspirations

The Pressure is ALWAYS on at Manly
2nd best is not a Manly thing

Mate ... our fans boo our captain, the legendary Dessie, Christians, froggy (the player of the year), mr, 100% parker, the Shu, donny singe and everybody else that sticks their heads up ...

Sieb's will always just be one loss or team selection away from the pitch forks.
