Importance of Top 4 finish

Assuming Storm win tonight it would mean the top 4 teams from the regular season will be the last 4 standing.. and that is despite Souths being ordinary in both their finals.
Based on this and the way we finished the season, anything less than a top 4 finish next season will be an underachievement. If we are realistic about making it to the big dance and even better winning it, we need to finish in that top 4. With DCE and the Trbo's (potentially more) lost to Origin, getting the wins on the board early in the season will be vital..

Canterbury 1995 same finals system Is the only one I can think off.
Teams from 5-8th have made GFs but haven’t won. Cows 2017 finished 8th made gf
