"I'm moving for the chance to win a premiership..."

What a crock of crap.
If it was true why have 17 NRL players from Penrith left over the past three seasons, with a couple more leaving at the end of this season?

I am not an Anasta fanboi but he made a good point when talking about Outikamaniu (or whatever the tigpies props name is)..

He said it makes sense for young players to take less to get to a good club because they will inevitably play finals, therefore potentially play rep and reap the benefits by building a big profile and getting the mega paydays towards the backend of their careers... PLUS they may win premierships along the way...

Alternatively they take big money from a crap club, their career goes down the toilet and they end up in super league after their first big contract ends...

None of which explains how the rorters manage to continually fit so many rep-quality players under the sombrero... and keep them - at least the riff have turnover, the only player rorters ever lost (that they wanted to keep) was Latrine...

Because of the salary cap, plus players who have already won a premiership or two can leverage that experience to get a bigger contract elsewhere.

Probably because they’ve already won premierships
Yeah I think you’re right. Koroisau has won three (remember Souths) and really hit the heights to the point where he may as well earn close a million bucks a season in the final 3-4 years of his career. I think his comments after the 2022 GF about winning a comp at the Tigers before laughing sarcastically, suggest he may be thinking this way.
