The spine is Super important and gets its name due to being the backbone and foundation of any team in the NRL and no suprise, those with quality in the 1, 6, 7 and 9 battle out the premiership.

So what does the spine rely on apart from their own skills, speed , vision and natural ability - GO FORWARD from the middle men to lay a platform !!

I am hearing alarming numbers from the Manly vs Penrith, game where our starting front rowers Taupau and Paseka ran for a measly 99 combined metres, opposed to the Leota/ Fisher Harris combo running for a total 322 metres.....tells a story doesn't it......

Kapow 70m and Tent 50m according to NRL stats

Vera 183
Jurbo 140
Kelpie 126
I got differing stats elsewhere but 120 metres combined is well down on what you'd expect off your big middle men....what did the NRL stats give Leota and Fisher Harris, as I think Leota was on 150 metres and a try after 20 minutes in comparison.

That's fine, but at halftime, the possession was 50/50 and Penriths big men still tripled Manly's middle....Aloiai and Keppie at least went direct and ran hard

Probably says more about the style of play .. than the efforts of the individuals ...

Tapau’s D/A 2021
Poor for a blue chip front rower
