Home Game Off to New Zealand in 2018

Our home game in Perth was a big failure this year with a really small crowd in albeit bad weather conditions. Hopefully we aren't locked into taking game there in 2018.

2018 Perth game is the last of the 3 year commitment

Manly just need to ask for an August or May game to avoid the annual winter rainy season

Dean Ritchie on twitter is positive that 3 games are going from Brookie next year. One to Brisbane, one to Perth and one to Christchurch 😡

I thought that 3 games could not be taken away from Brookvale unless there was a change to the constitution.... did I have that wrong????

If so does the Football Club have any relevance now????

@Mark from Brisbane you are normally up to speed with this stuff, whats your take on it??

That's what I thought too. If there are fewer games I'll want a discount on my membership that's for sure.

With one of the lowest home game crowd attendances in the league, the club needs to do what the club needs to do.

If more people showed up to Brookie it wouldn't be happening but unfortunately the reality is crowds (across the majority of all clubs) are on the decline.
Why not take a match to North Sydney Oval? They got a crowd of 22,000 to a rugby game there last week featuring Warringah . . .

Was reading today Perth is having a double-header Rd1 to open their new stadium that the Force will use...um oh lol, well someone is going to use. From memory Bulldogs v Unknown yet and Rabbies v Unknown yet. So maybe we might be one those opponents.

Get Klemmer to manly and a rd one game between manly and the dogs wouldn't be too bad

My take is the Football Club members will have to be asked to approve.

BUT, they probably don't give a **** ( MWSE) about their views anyway!!

No, ours will be a home game so additional to these.

It's not a bad thing. Christchurch is untapped market for player talent. Not every one can be a crusader.
I got no doubt it will sell out. Perth lukewarm on this idea

Has turned into good timing as well with Christchurch likely not getting an All Blacks test the next couple of years

Better to have a few "away" games instead of going broke and not signing top names.
That's what the salary cap grants to the club are for and TPAs. MWSE need to provide a better match day experience to get fans through the gates. Also organise reciprocal rights with other Sydney club members. The lazy way is to throw the hands in the air and say we must take more games away from Brookvale.

I understand it the same way.

It would be interesting IF legal action is commenced by the Penns (in the event a 3rd game taken away is not granted) if the FC would be in a financial position to fight it, or would have to roll over.
