Have you noticed how long half-times are these days? I'm sure they are supposed to be 10-minutes duration, so I timed the Easts V Newcastle half-time today.
16 minutes from the time the whistle blew to end the first half to the time the ball was kicked off to start the second half.
Again, it's the fans at the ground - the ones who actually pay to create the atmosphere that the sport needs - who suffer. Not those with Foxtel who are comfortably seated enjoying their beer and a home-cooked snack.
It's all about the electronic media cramming in more ads in order to pay for the salaries of those has-been football players who are as lucid as a dyslexic frog.
The NRL talks about trying to speed up the game but have they ever addressed the issue of the elongated mid-match inaction?

The main problem for me is not the fan but the player......you want to keep that intensity and the extended break will kill the mental desire
