Frank Stanton

DSM5

First Grader
The most troubling thing about this whole debacle is the appointment of Stanton to oversee the Storm.  Touted as an outsider being bought in to clean up the mess, he's a current director of the holding company that controls the Storm and has been on the board since 2004.  Valimanda is the holder of the Storm's licence in the NRL and cranky Franky is a current director, along with the financial controller of the Herald and Weekly publishing and Hanson, the stood down acting chief executive.  I'm not throwing stones at Frank, it's just that one would think the NRL should appoint a person not attached to the current storm cloud.

That's incredible and I thought it very interesting to read the details of all this unravelling in the Herald today. There are a lot of questions to be asked of Valimanda and their three directors. News has a lot of questions to be answered as well.

The tragedy of all this is that no one will buy them now - given that they make millions in loss each year and it is unlikely they will ever turn a profit. Who would touch such a sullied brand name either?
