FOX Show - Manly content

Michael O'Connor is dead to me. If ever there was a villain who tried to ruin our club for his own financial gain it was him. He was the number one poacher for Super League and tried his best to f*** Manly, Arko & Rugby League over (Which almost killed us). The bloke unfortunately is a money hungry grub. He then became the number 1 poacher for Rugby Union and poached some of the biggest names in league. If ever there was a bloke who deserves the Silvertails hair dryer treatment, it is him.

Tapau on the other hand is the best signing we have made in the last few years.

I did not know that about O'Conner.

I'm assuming that now I do, that's everyone in the world! sheesh

Jeez.

If I ever need a lynch mob I will know where to start. Keep practicing those knots boys.

Hang him high!!!!!! If its any consolation I thought he was great pre super league, But I also like Pepsi better than Coke once too. Don't like either now. ;-)

Still a great player with skill levels most NRL players on today would kill for.

I'm no doubt in the minority but the super league war is history. We survived. Move on. Just like Des. History is just that History. Move forward and drop the hatred. They were and are great Manly men.

And just to get the blood boiling on here nice and early....

With the Super league war would Manly have been better jumping ship? We were gold plated back then and had we jumped the ARL would have lost the war but we were in such a position that we could have demanded a huge deal to jump.
There would have been no northern eagles. No barren rebuilding and i would hazard a guess no greenturd type trying to move us out of Sydney.....

I'm glad we stayed loyal.

And the ARL did lose the war.
The "entertainment product " we watch today is proof of that.

Dont get me wrong I'm glad we held firm. If we had have jumped it would have been night night for the ARL.

Would we be more of a powerhouse if we went? I think perhaps.... but who really knows....

I agree, and regarding the so-called super league war, the real forces at play and the interests of the various parties are more often than not inaccurately portrayed - it wasn't about good (wholesome sport, loyalty) vs evil (money-hungry media mogul), it was about the commercial exploitation of broadcasting rights and the introduction of pay tv in this country. And it wasn't a battle between an evil media mogul and loyal sport administrators, rather it was between 2 media moguls, Murdoch and Packer, and the traditional league administration was cast aside in the wash up, leaving us with the TV product we have today.
