DCE has 2 good games and the normally prickly/bipolar environment that is SILVERTAILS is a dead set LOVE IN

maybe we need one of those ticking meters,

its been 72 hours and 14 minutes without meltdowns and counting .

not since dial up has there been such a clear run id reckon

The fall out is coming. The inevitable headless chook plays and running in circles won't be long. I actually think this weekend we'll see it all unfold.

They will happen again as much you can count on the sun going down in the evening. Enjoy the time in the sun while it lasts. Btw I am hoping for a Northern Europe summer 😀

“Serenity now, insanity later”

I hope he continues his good form. Obviously from a team perspective, but he has a great smile when he’s happy, which in turn makes me happy. That is serenity right there. 😀

This is DCE though - brilliant at times, plays well other times, and runs around headless other times and not able to direct a team around the park.

Love Ins, bagging or even screaming at his performances is the type of player he is.

i think the main point of it all from many here is : What is this type of player really worth in the cap, and what impacts does his high price have on the entire squad seeing as though, perhaps too often, his lack of game management depends on others having the ability to make things happen because no one is directing the team around the park like top halfbacks can.

I've always thought of it like this.
You need someone like DCE in order to win a comp. But obviously the money we pay him makes it harder to stack the side with other top players, which are also needed to win a comp. Hence the reliance on journeymen and young up and comers.

Luckily (or was it always part of the plan?) some of our youngsters look like coming up trumps. Specifically, Turbo and now Schu and Haumole. M Fainu's tribulations* have been a setback as he was looking to be high class.

* of course I would normally have said 'trials and tribulations' but he hasn't had a trial yet

To be fair, in a time there are not to many "dominant" halves, DCE is up on the Top shelf somewhere.
He is a Superstar half against sloppy opposition and struggles against the gritty physical sides.
DCE I reckon is a very good tackler, though makes some over rush decisions leaving his defenders either side in hot water.
In attack he has the ability to setup his outside men well, but struggles directing his forward pack around the field, though a more competent 9 would also help erase this situation consideably.
So you have the L (left hand side) - M(middles) - R (Right hand side)....and the right hand side is DCE's to run.
Unfortunately when the L and M are not providing go forward (which is often the case agaisnt the robust Top 4 type sides), he tends to play very lateral, rather than playing direct and when your halves are sideways, the errors and poor decisions will no doubt be part of the package.
Personally I like DCE and reckon if these forwards with renewed vigour and energy can continue winning the contest and lay a platform, DCE will star in 2022.

ok now are you ok buddy.
did the contract rattle you too

your juggling mentally with the mitchell pearce moment i talk about when the chooks said the same and won comps soon after

it also makes it very difficult to bring in a new top dog to provide the missing roles, where we have needed it for many years up until 2 weeks ago due to the whole alpha thing that goes on. because he has to be at least second fiddle

Lol, Mitchell Pearce? Yes he was replaced by Cooper Cronk, but do you think also somehow buying the likes of Tedesco, Keary, Crichton (to add to an already strong squad) helped get them over the line?

for sure
but the fact remains , most clubs settle and they didnt , we have
knew pearce he was a good clubman, was the blues halfback, but his game wasnt going to take them to the big dance

unless the attitude change toward the kicking game remains, because the only thing that seems to have changed is that, or maybe he got new boots. and dont we love to kick it hard when we get new boots. its like getting a cherry on the new cricket bat/ always need a corky to get a good cherry even though 6 stitches were better. see how i tied that in there with the cherry

Don't worry if we don't win a comp soon then I'll agree with you and the DCE fiasco will have been one of those things that never quite worked for us.
Like the Boyd Brown Dorahy thing.
Close but no cigar.
However I think we are fairly close, closer than some here imagine 🙂

look i hope so and the emergence of talent currently is great. not sure if enough of it is currently in key positions
the cows went the same approach with million dollar man and unearthed a hooker and 6 . those key roles seem a couple of years off at manly.

maybe schuster but who has seen enough to know if he will
own the 6
compliment DCE

this can only succeed if DCE continues to work the game and who has seen enough of that to say if he will
own the 7
compliment schuster

i would love it if everyone gets to stick it to me , im happy to make that sacrifice, im a team player

compliment DCE
Never thought I'd see the day !
