In the countdown to Sunday night’s titanic showdown, the food for thought left over from the two teams’ epic battle a few weeks back is still worth digesting.

Even after everything that has happened since, it’s still hard to imagine Manly’s average metre gain against the Roosters that first weekend of the finals could be so dominant, yet come to nothing. Of course, the Roosters served up one of the greatest defensive efforts in the club’s history to counter wave after wave of Sea Eagles attack in a 4-0 win.

I don't think I've ever seen Manly dominate every aspect of a game like that first semi, and lose.
