Eddie McGuire quits as Nine CEO

Eddie McGuire has stepped down as the CEO of the Nine Network, it was announced this morning.

He told 2GB radio this morning he was very keen to remain involved with the network.

He said James Packer was "a mate" and would continue doing business with him.

It is understood he will continue presenting the quiz show he hosts on Monday nights.

"It's business as usual as far as I'm concerned," he said.

"It should not be seen as any kind of step back for the Nine Network," he said.

He said the death of Kerry Packer left an "enormous hole" at the network.

His resignation as CEO will take effect from June 30.

Why anybody even considers taking on that role has got me stumped.

But we'll done to him for sticking it out as long as he has.

The office the CEO's at NINE use must be cursed.

Its because the CEO office door at 9 is actually a waste high door under Packers desk......you dont so much walk in you crawl in backwards, that way you already assume the position to get ****ed!
