SOO players will be missing for Rd 17 as 3rd game is 9 July.

If NSW secure the Series in game 2, maybe Sid and Choc won't kill themselves to be available in game 3

Dogs will have their halves and T missing for the re-match though :p

Does anyone know exactly how the draw is done?

Computerized or handpicked, as it were?

Because it really has thrown up some anomalies and disparity, and we're only halfway through!

You'll never get anywhere near a ''fair'' draw (unless teams played each other twice again).
And that can't happen now.

All we can do is get to top 4, preferably top 2 for the finals, and it's a new competition for the final 8.

I'll still stick by my tip of Us v Dogs GF Day...for what my tip is worth.

The 'Riff are firming as the dark horse though

Reports were some Canadian experts (@globaleagle and a couple of JBs :p) created the schedule.

The anomalies can not be ironed out as 16 into 24 won't go. Add to that the Friday night Broncos blackout for other Teams, special rounds like ANZAC Day, SOO, etc.

So long as Manly is scheduled for the last Sunday fixture, it doesn't really matter :)

So my lil bros olds boss' brother works on the draw (long connection :) )

So this id what ive bee told (feel free to correct me)

Anyway apparently the draw is done by a specialist company in Canada.

Each club submits its preference as to who they wish to play, and where they prefer to play them. For example, apparently manly prefers not to play raiders in berra and the raiders dont want to play manly twice, hence the one game in brookie each year.

The company then needs to schedule the draw factoring in representaive rounds, impact of those commitments on clubs, tv scheduling preferences, ground availability, etc...

And hence the draw, albeit confusing, is concieved each year.

Well that partially explains it.

How could Canadians understand all the nuances of the NRL and associated factors, without making significant ''moose takes''...

The answer seems clear they can't.

Teams playing each other twice in a month is farcical for a start!

And then it is entered into a computer, because no human brain can understand it.

Bring in two conferences.

PS The spelling Nazi's will get you.

well, aren't you all a bunch of funny eagles!

I think it is a Canadian company that does it....also it was a Canadian company that stuffed up Queensland's health payment system a couple of years ago!

Incursion by sabotage!

The funny thing is.....a Canadian company does the hockey draw.

So that's 30 teams (15 games). They play 82 times in a regular season (counts thumbs).....1230 games! (not counting finals of which one is on RIGHT NOW but I'm responding to you)

And before the season...the full draw is released, who is playing who...when and at what time.

So it's b/s that the nrl can't get a draw ready before the season.

methinks it's channel 9 and their prerogative to determine what games go where at the last moment that screws things up.

moose-ion accomplished!

We're either a bunch of funny eagles, or a clutch of uncanny frugals...Or both!

But we'd certainly be able to devise a far more equitable draw.

The Bronx monopoly on Friday Night Football is yet another glaring inconsistency!

There are two other QLD teams after all.

Don't be moosetaken
don't be mooselead
he's not a mooses arse
he's a mooses head.

That's a bit moose-chievous too @Alan

You could be cruisin' for a bruisin' , or a serious moose-hap if GE looks in here again!

To be fair I think he's only an honorary Canadian...over there because of his moose-us ( his wife for the less imaginative !)

Play each team once, then half the comp a second time. Next year play the other of the clubs twice so that every two years you have played each team three times then repeat.
Equal Monday night games per team.

If you look at Penrith's draw it has been incredibly soft thus far. I think they're definitely top 4 quality but they're only on top right now because they've played a lot of the easy beat sides twice.
