Quick note : Don't use this blokes surgeon. 😉 Check out the last paragraph.

St George Illawarra prop Josh Miller has announced his retirement from rugby league, ending a nine-year NRL career that spanned two clubs and 122 games.

Miller started with Canberra in 2004 and then joined the Dragons on a two-year contract in 2012.

However, the club confirmed on Thursday night that the 28-year-old had decided to retire on the recommendation of recent advice by club medical staff.

Miller was noted as a fearless hitman throughout his career that resulted in a string of concussions, while he underwent minor ankle surgery in September

Instead of drugs sounds like the hospital medical staff went the knuckle to put him to sleep...

Former Kiwi international Bronson Harrison is poised to join the St George Illawarra Dragons, replacing another former Canberra Raiders forward Josh Miller.

Harrison still has two years remaining on his contract at the Raiders but the 27-year-old has been on the outer at Canberra, the Raiders attempting to move him on to another club since the middle of the year.

It now appears the Dragons will be his destination, and he could be there as early as today.

The Dragons have already lost back-rowers Beau Scott (Newcastle), Dean Young (retirement) and Jeremy Latimore (Penrith) in the off-season. Miller’s impending retirement opens further space for Harrison.

Maybe that's why players are not keen to represent themselves in negotiations. It would be harder to walk out on a contract if you made the agreement yourself, face to face, worked out all the nuts and bolts of what you want and what the club expects.

It would put too much pressure on the poor player who is after all......"only doing what is best for themselves". 🙄 Easier to have a mouth piece or manager.
