Connor Watson has made a decision on his playing future.
The in-demand utility has rejected a contract extension at Newcastle and will instead re-join the Roosters from next year.

Watson had a host of clubs after him but in the end it was left to a choice of two – stay at Newcastle or return to the Roosters where he made his debut.

well he would hardly be fetching $1M a year. It’s also his former club, really not sure why this would be surprising

I think Watson is a very good player. He is versatile and brings enthusiasm when he takes the field. I would have like him at Manly, but I doubt we even had him under consideration.
It's interesting -- and pleasing -- that Manly is not being mentioned in any recruitment speculation. I hope that is because the club is confident our juniors are good enough to take the places of our departing players in our top 30 in 2022.

Likely to be 14, won't play 13(Radley), 6(Keary/Walker) or 1(Teddy/Manu). Possibly competing with Verrills for 9.
