The Who

Journey Man
I don't know the real reasons Zorba was sacked, and I can't recall the name of his replacement, but I have been meaning to offer my praise for the job the new communications team is doing. I am in the communications business, so I do take notice of such things. The website, the e-blasts, the marketing, the club's stories and interview with players etc have been so much more professional in recent times.
The Hadley rant against Manly and certain employees prompted me to write this.
I think the club and everyone connected to it are doing a fantastic job. They seem to get unwarranted criticism.
Here's one supporter who does not take their contributions lightly. Keep up the great work!

+1.

There has been a huge improvement since Zorba left. I think anyone would find it hard to argue otherwise (but doubtless some will try).

Rachael Cassidy is the one you are talking about, her twitter handle is @rach_cassidy if you would like to thank her there.

Agree, the interviews on the website and the sheer amount of media coming out this season has been great cudos Rachael.

The videos are fantastic. We seem to have our people on tv more to
Matt,Dce and even coach willow on fox
George on footy show and gameplAn

It's been awesome.

And don't forget those excellent videos from the WCC earlier in the year.

Rachel does a great job and is part of the "new direction" both the board and Perry wanted.

Can you imagine all this with Zorba in control??

I am not anti Zorba, I think he's had a great history with the club but clearly he was "old school" (and there's nothing wrong with that but that's just not the way the modern way is it). I just feel it's sad that he's not enjoying what could be his last year travelling away with the players, travelling to the games with the team and enjoying his roll down to retirement.

How different could the current situation be with that sort of approach.

Good points mark.
I think he can put things behind him with Dave perry I think zorba has something to offer on the board of all 3 boards. He knows the game he has an affinity with the players and does love the club. The question is can he do that.

I would hope he can, and life would be better for him AND everyone else if he does that...the ball is firmly in his court!!

Hi all,

Aloha from the island of Hawaii where I am currently enjoying my belated honeymoon. Seems like a fair bit has been happening since I left on annual leave 2 weeks ago!

The great improvements in our communications can be attributed to a few new faces. As mentioned, our new Media Manager has been a big part of the changes. We also have a new website manager, Richard Maxton, who has been working very hard on our website, twitter and Facebook comms. Our weekly emails are looked after by my right hand man, Matt Phelan.

Looking towards the future we have big plans to improve the communication flow between management and fans. Once I'm back I will be starting to run regular feedback forums on a range of issues; from team apparel, membership, female and junior involvement. If you are keen o participate in these forums please email me at [email protected].

Thanks as always for the feedback, I will certainly pass on your comments to Rachael, Richard and Matt.

Looking forward to streaming the Eels game live on the iPad from Waikiki on the weekend, see you all in a few weeks!

Go Manly!
