There has been so much securing 'my future' talk lately that I thought it was very overdue to get a collection fund set up. We need to look after our nrl players beyond just going to games, buying merchandise and giving them attention to make them marketable. They need more attention and more money. In short they are really hard up so I thought it was high time to pass out the collection tin to make sure no player has to worry about their future again. 3 mil in 3 years can only go so far guys and I really empathise with their plight.
Its one that I know every aussie can relate to. I think it's completely justified dragging through the mud the same people that buy merchandise, give them attention, make them marketable and attend games. Everyone really appreciates the rollercoaster of grandstanding for the media and protracted contract negotiations. Its completely normal to negotiate to go to a rival a year before your current one ends. Everyone does that don't they? I feel sorry for these marquee players as I'm sure every level headed fan would.
