Penrith face losing superstar halfback Nathan Cleary for the next two NRL games after the integrity unit sensationally came down hard on him for being ''untruthful'' about his social distancing slip-up on Anzac Day.

Panthers teammate and Cleary's housemate Tyrone May has also been issued a breach notice and faces a $15,000 fine and two-match suspension ahead of the May 28 competition reboot.

Cleary landed in hot water last month when images of him partying with a group of young female friends emerged on social media during the COVID lockdown.
A day after he was fined by the NRL and described his actions as ''naive'', Cleary was left red-faced when further footage of him dancing on TikTok with the same group of girls surfaced.

The integrity unit was disappointed Cleary did not volunteer the information during their original investigation, which is why they proposed the latest two-match ban and $30,000 fine.

Panthers officials privately expected Cleary to be hit with an increased fine but spared a suspension.
In a statement released on Monday night, the NRL said: "The notices allege that the players were untruthful in relation to material matters and the proposed sanctions reflect the seriousness of those allegations.
"Both players will now have an opportunity to respond to the matters alleged in breach notices before a final determination is made."

May, who was already banned until round five after pleading guilty to releasing sex tapes without consent at the start of last year, could now be out of action until round seven.
It's understood May was said to have gone to his room to distance himself from the unexpected female guests once they arrived, but the integrity unit later discovered this was not the case.
Penrith officials will meet with the pair on Tuesday morning and discuss whether to accept the breach notices or challenge them.

So you don’t get a suspension for doing something with far worse potential consequences (transporting the virus to a regional community), and breaking actual laws relating to firearms and vehicles - but you miss two games because you have ‘disappointed’ the Integrity Unit? That’ll do me.

Cleary and May lied and misled the NRL so good to see they have suspended the pair.

The original version of the story that involved May going to his room by himself when a bunch of babes entered his dwelling was quite far fetched, wasn’t it?
Given his history - yes very far fetched

Does this mean May filmed the tik tok? Please this is just too funny. He should be called the "cinematographer".

Don’t forget riding motorbikes and shooting guns is a “ cultural “ thing so that makes it “ all good”.

So Addo Carr and Mitchell are slapped with wet feathers for misuse of firearms, riding dirt bikes without helmets and in Addo Carrs case this is the THIRD offence in relation to breaching the self distancing laws. They are lucky boys!

Riding without a helmet on private property is not real bright but not illegal. Just sayin'.

I agree, they got off the real offences and also endangering a high risk community far too lightly.

I doubt they even wet the feathers before the slapping, TBH

Naughty, Naughty Nathan.
He's been caught lying, again.
Seems he picked up the girls in his car; they didn't just lob at his place unannounced.
Let's see if the NRL Integrity Unit is impressed with Nathan's third set of lies to increase their penalty. The two match suspension should now be at least four matches on the naughty chair.

Into the VERY naughty corner for you Nathan.
