ANGRY at ongoing innuendo they are cheats, the Sydney Roosters have come forward to deny any rorting and to sensationally declare they are actually $100,000 under the NRL’s salary cap.

The claim is that guys like Tupou are on minimum value contracts. The value quoted on Talkin' Bulldogs yesterday was $40K.

I can't understand how his manager would not have sought a significant upgrade as we were forced to do when DCE became the marquee player he is.

I always assumed that a base of $75k was the minimum till just recently, for any registered NRL level Player.
Makes a farce of the Cap if a first grader is valued at $15k :dodgy:

Agree that the managers of Toupuo and Cordner are not working in their Client's best interest by getting them upgrades.

Would be interesting to compare how the NRL allowed them to value SBWurst, in contrast to Folau

The minimum was $55K a few years ago so you can bet it's more like $80K these days
