What a great win. What a great day. Not much else to say in regards to the win that hasnt already been said. The pack, george, kelly cherry, tommy, were all just awesome which you would expect when you trounce a fancied team by 50+

The effort was there last week and poor ball security and penalties really hurt and that was less evident yesterday . Possession is king especially when the mercury approaches 40. Better hands and discipline contributed , but for mine it was cherrys kicking game especially early that made the difference. By the time he reverted to attack mode the scoreboard and the heat had taken its toll on the eels and the cue was in the rack

Game management , an early 40/20 , grubbers in the in goal. It was like we had blake green, croker and cherry playing in 2 positions. Cherry is the man , and when he plays with his head and kicks well in general play we will win more often than not.

The forward platform was enormous, not turning the ball over was good also but manlys glut of posession was on the back of game management which was superb in the first 20 yesterday. When you hold the ball , set up and kick well, and chase you can monopolise posession which cherry can do well at times, but mostly when we are on the front foot.

When you drop ball and lose posession it can also help you even up posession and get you back in a game. This is where we need to get to ,in order to win the arm wrestle and challenge the top teams. No matter how well you play the refs, luck, and butterfingers can hurt. You have to be able to force the issue with a smart steady kicking ,mrather than trying to score from everywhere.

So much rests on DCE shoulders. If he can mature in this part of his game we can be anything, but it has to come from him and if it doesnt we will be close , but just making up the numbers really

But i should add he was king today without any question

As good as we looked in attack yesterday, I was more impressed with the defence.

Keeping them to zero was one thing and it was great, but the fact that the team were moving up as a single line gave doesn't-matta no room to move when they had the ball and most of their offloads were desperation efforts which Phil Gould called just dumping your problems off to team mates.

And to push them into touch 3 times was brilliant and something we haven't seen at Manly in a while.

Not that we needed the moral booster a 40/20 usually provides but it just added to the confidence we were building. I just find it hilarious that on a scorching hot day like yesterday mannah wins the toss and chooses to run into the breeze - it was almost like he was asking DCE to kick at least one 40/20

Yesterday's performance was vintage Chez. Especially that first try.

I know he had his most productive season in attack last year but in his earlier years, it seemed like he had a Plan A, B and C nearly every time he ran the ball. He would just bounce off players, offload at will, put players through holes and charge through gaps. By 2014 there were already discussions on here that he was the best halfback this club has ever had

Agreed! Great day for Manly fans..and better yet full free match replays on nrl.com. *woot woot Im gonna watch this game a dozen times this week...

Fantastic game by Syd yesterday but true to form the NRL have still trying to screw us over by having him charged by the Judicary for a dangerous throw - lucky for us he is such a cleanskin so he will not not miss a match

I didn't think that there was much in the tackle in any case ...

The opening 40/20 followed by the try for me really set the tempo of the game. Chez really leads by example and it was great to see the whole team put in a great performance. Although Chez is a great player, he can't do it all on his own.

I couldn’t work out how that 1st try came about, then saw in the replay that Moses? came out of the line and started tackling one of our players.

Charged....OMFG Greenturd you'll ry anything you germ slime.
I can't believe it either.. It's only a grade 1 and attracts 75 points for guilty plea but that's beside the point..I've seen worse things happen that go unnoticed. Pretty disappointing knowing that DCE isn't that type of player.

Actually..... Scam put the elbow into Matt Parcell but did not get charged! He just received a letter from the NRL warning him ... Now I'm angry :punch:

Neil Breen just rated DCE as back in the origin frame for the toads.
Selfish I know but....

NOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!!!

Queensland coach Kevin Walters has nominated Cameron Munster and Michael Morgan as early favourites as the Maroons' new halves combination while conceding he was expecting "plenty of selection headaches" before the opening Holden State of Origin clash in June.

Walters pointed out the decision would ultimately be made by the Queensland selectors as a group, but gave an indication where the Maroons were heading when asked whether incumbent five-eighth Munster and Morgan were pencilled in.
