Croker is our 9 this year, which is fair enough imo. My guess is no guarantees for the future though.

Tom even at 50% makes our team look much better but I'm really struggling with the makeup of the bench and Croker at 9.

Toms presence will be an Inspiration but all our players must lift their own standards from last weeks home game 7 try, 40 point capitulation .

The Dogs pack have been exposed against bigger packs two games in a row and their coach must find a way to counteract this weakness and innovate a winning game plan
If he can do this he will also have the fanatical home Ground advantage to Inspire his team to a win

At the beginning of the Year , No one tipped the Dogs to play finals
Let alone play a home final
Manly have the players to put a final stop to the Bulldogs 2024 fairy tail
For Manly to lose two games in a row and bow out of the finals would be a big anticlimax to our finals finish and a major disappointment

We can win a few games against sh*t teams without Turbo but any game against top 8 and especially a final we are toast without him.

No much point looking off Nobbys for a Manly player.
I just suspect that Lachie has been such a core part of the team in recent years that win or lose he's going to be part of this season's campaign. Big off-season for Simpkins (or Gordie) and it could be a new ball game next year. Just my guess, but there's clearly some reason for it.

Im asking I guess whether Siebold sees Simkins as surplus, and is happy to run with Croker as the permanent Hooker for the foreseeable future,as in next year. I hope not as as Simkins is no Harry Grant ,but he certainly offers much more Brailey like expertise (the Sharks 9 who cut us a new arsehole last weekend) to that 9 position .
Our slow forwards look a lot faster getting run onto the ball before the D gets to them ,as opposed to with Croker getting the ball at the same time as the D is right in front and all the run off from that ,slow ptb's etc etc
