Broncos enter unfamiliar territory

There is an article on the NRL site that reports on the fact that Brisbane are playing there first 5 day turnaround game in over a year. It even has quotes by some of their players saying that they usually play Friday night games and how this is a disruption to the preparation they are used to. Why the NRL would want to highlight this blatant advantage (one of many) that is afforded to this club is beyond me. There is no elite sporting competition anywhere in the world where such flagrant advantages are handed to one team. When you take into consideration the amount of five day turnarounds Manly had to endure last year, as well as the massive advantages of playing on free to air television each week it really is just cheating. Then there is the one city team in a rugby league heartland, the ridiculously unbalanced advantages relating to third party sponsorship, and the NRL then wonder why clubs without these obvious leg ups choose to pay people in brown paper bags. I would be embarrassed as a player to have so many leg ups over other teams. And in light of all this the Broncos are really nothing special, under achievers big time. Imagine the Sea Eagles getting the blue print that Brisbane receive, we would win a bunch of premierships every decade.

Oh, the poor dears!! They get a five-day turnaround, gosh the world must be ending lol. Welcome to our world donkeys. If I remember in season 2016 we have 3 games in 10 days, something they will never have to put up with.

I thought by the title of the thread The Broncos had missed signing someone that they wanted....Phew the world hasn't gone mad.

Todd has specifically stated that clubs that rate well will continue to be afforded preferential treatment next year when the draw is cleaned up. So expect no change to the Broncs and Eels always on the tv

I shed a tear and had a minutes silence when I heard the sickening news that the Donkeys had a 5 day turnaround this week. There has to be an investigation.

In previous years there were suggestions that some clubs should receive bigger grants than others. Any preference shown to NRL clubs should go hand in hand with this system. The nrl needs to push the game and needs the cash but the system needs to be balanced.

Tv game every week 8 mill
Some tv games 9 mill
No tv games to push brand 10 mill
And in between.

If you get too many short turn arounds your allowed to add 2 extra to the squad on lower wages to help with injury and fatigue

This idea has gone very quiet since they dumbed down management of the code.

The code will not prosper while this bafoon is in charge. Regardless of the ownership model the clubs are just the whipping boys For the stakeholders. Its only going to get worse
