Bring Back Some Fire!!

Manly improved well on last week - in a few key areas including offloads & support play...some big names making big plays but still - 1 Key ingredient missing......
Where is the anger - that cranky defence that bustles the opposition into submission??
These sweeping plays from the Tigers will kill any opposition - IF - they have rolled through the middle & won a quick play ball....
On the odd occasion Manly dominated the tackle midfield - the Tigers were forced sideways & forced to come back in as the slide was already in motion.
When on the backfoot - the outside defenders are forced to make a decision & often, as displayed now in both games so far - they are often wrong.
The Tigers loved last nights footy style - a fast paced shootout & players like Tedesco will do that to a few more teams by seasons end.
This style of footy however is broken up by heavy hitting defence, where the hard contact in the middle, controls the tempo of the game, taking away that space & time out wide.
Not as worried as most by a poor start after 2 games, but if the boys can't muster some fire in the belly to get far more physical in the middle - it will be a concern, as this comes down to attitude & desire.

It has to start with the coach and this one is as silent as an angels fart

Players with the experience of Myles, Lyon, matai & Kapow should have no problem lighting some fuses - the youngest forward Jake seems to have that mongrel, so there's no excuse for the other players.
There seems to be something lacking from kickoff, so maybe get the old Magpies face slapping to fire the boys up....agree the coach has a job to add some extra desire which will show directly with their defensive attitude - but players of this calibre, including many representative experience, should have this as a built in mechanism.

Walker can't tackle and forwards Nate and Lewis aren't much chop. Would not have let Hiku go

Not sure Hiku adds the needed venom missing in defence, but no doubt a handy & versatile player who is doing well at Penrith
