INJURED Manly fullback Brett Stewart has undergone surgery on his left-knee on Wednesday morning.

The operation at North Sydney’s Mater Hospital was a success, but it’s still far too early to gauge the long-term impact on the 25-year-old.
Stewart is expected to miss up to five months of the 2010 NRL season after injurying his knee in Manly’s opening-round loss to the Tigers last Monday-week ago.
The former NSW and Australian fullback missed large chunks of last year with a similar knee injury, but on his right knee.
Manly officials said Stewart is recovering with his mum Narelle by his side, but he remains a little groggy.
Manly coach Des Hasler this week named utility back Ben Farrar at fullback for Saturday night’s clash against the Knights in Gosford.
Farrar played in the role against the Eels, despite being named in the centres, with Michael Robertson, the selected No.1 against Parramatta, moving back to the wing.
